On Tuesday, 6th January 2026, Batch 17 students of the Global Luxury Goods & Services Management (MGLuxM) program and Batch 5 students of the Hospitality Business Leadership (HBL) program had an exciting opportunity to visit The St. Regis Mumbai, a hotel that perfectly blends timeless elegance with modern sophistication. The visit offered a rare behind-the-scenes look at how a global luxury brand creates exceptional guest experiences while staying rooted in its legacy.
The day began with a guided tour of the property. Students were struck by the thoughtfulness in every detail – from the artful interior design to the carefully curated artworks – all reflecting a sense of balance, refinement, and understated luxury.
This was followed by an engaging session with the Head of Management, who shared insights into how a luxury hotel functions as a finely tuned ecosystem. MGLuxM and HBL students learned how departments like operations, finance, HR, marketing, and sales work together to ensure every guest interaction is seamless and memorable.
One of the key takeaways was understanding how The St. Regis maintains its global identity while adapting to local culture. From country-specific menus to service approaches tailored to regional tastes, students saw how the brand balances international standards with local flavour.
The experience was further enriched with a curated lunch at Sette Mara, the hotel’s flagship restaurant. Every detail – from menu design and plating to attentive service – offered a sensory experience that demonstrated the art of modern luxury dining.
Students from both the MGLuxM and HBL programs, left with a fresh understanding of luxury hospitality – one where human-centric service, thoughtful planning, and innovation come together to create experiences that linger long after the stay ends.
