On May 14, Batch 14 students from SP Jain's Global’s MGLuxM program had the exclusive opportunity to explore St. Regis Mumbai and gain invaluable insights into the intricate craftsmanship and commitment that defines excellence in the hospitality industry.

Under the expert guidance of industry stalwarts, the tour was a masterclass in hospitality excellence. Hitesh Sangvan, Director of Food and Beverages, and Varun Chhibber, General Manager, demonstrated leadership and expertise to ensure that every aspect of the hotel's operations exceeds expectations.

A standout feature of the visit was experiencing Sangvan's culinary brilliance. His innovative approach has made St. Regis a pinnacle of Mumbai's nightlife. From elegant high teas to lavish gala dinners and the iconic Bloody Mary/Red Snapper cocktail, his culinary creations have set a new standard for luxury and sophistication, offering guests unparalleled experiences. Under his guidance, the F&B department has achieved remarkable success, boasting a revenue exceeding 200 crores and a team of over 500 professionals.

Similarly, Pratik Vashisht, the Director of Rooms, has redefined luxury with innovative services such as butler service, setting new standards of personalised hospitality. His ethos of "selling dreams, not rooms" has elevated the guest experience and contributed to the hotel's impressive revenue of 500 crores.

Varun Chhibber, the General Manager, ensures seamless operations and upholds the hotel's reputation for excellence. Arti Dadhich heads Learning and Development, nurturing talent to maintain the highest service standards. Preetaya Guha, the Director of Services and Housekeeping, focuses on sustainability initiatives, implementing eco-friendly practices like linen recycling and maintaining a remarkable ratio of 13 rooms to 1 staff member.

During the visit, students also met Shivakumar Ganeshan, the Director of Finance, who ensures the hotel's financial health, and Pooja Nambiar, the Director of Marketing and Communication, who spearheads brand positioning and content marketing initiatives, blending modern glamour with traditional hospitality.

At the heart of St. Regis Mumbai is Suprabhat Banerjee, the Director of HR, who oversees the hotel's most valuable asset: its people. Together, this stellar team creates an unforgettable experience for guests, setting the standard for luxury hospitality in India.

The tour concluded with a visit to the exquisite Penthouse, nestled on the 38th floor, offering panoramic views of Mumbai's skyline. Led by Domenico Lannone, the General Manager of the Penthouse, the experience underscored the importance of face-to-face interactions in delivering unparalleled guest experiences.

With admiration, the students bid adieu to the St. Regis Mumbai team, taking with them insights into the dedication and precision that define the peak of the hospitality sector. This experience was a cherished opportunity, providing them with a firsthand glimpse into the workings of luxury and hospitality.
