On 4th June 2025, Batch 4 Hospitality Business Leadership (HBL) students met with Ganesh Iyer, Managing Director of Veen Waters, to explore how this Bhutan born brand transforms mineral water into a premium lifestyle offering through its focus on purity and storytelling.
One of the most exciting parts of the session was learning about water sommeliers; experts who, much like wine connoisseurs, evaluate water based on its taste, mineral content, and source.
HBL Students also gained insight into the concept of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), learning how water acquires distinct health properties and flavour as it travels through natural geological formations.
Mr Iyer offered more than an introduction to luxury water; he gave students a glimpse into niche brand positioning. They learned how everyday products can be elevated into premium lifestyle offerings through strategic branding, storytelling, and audience targeting. It was an eye-opener for future hospitality leaders learning to create value where others may not see it.
For HBL students, the session was a chance to rethink the ordinary and recognise its potential in luxury settings. It sparked conversations around brand perception, product placement, and the importance of curating experiences that resonate with a sophisticated, detail oriented clientele.
